The Houches Physics School, France, April 28 / May 03 - 2024

Controlling thermal emission, or the reciprocal phenomenon of absorption of electromagnetic radiation, is crucial in various applications including heat management, energy harvesting and conversion, sensing, imaging, or producing novel sources and detectors. The development of metamaterials and complex media has led to remarkable effects in heat-light conversion and transfer, due to light-matter interaction at the subwavelength scale.

The school will cover these topics both from the fundamental perspective and from the applications point of view.

Le contrôle de l'émission thermique, ou le phénomène réciproque de l'absorption du rayonnement électromagnétique, est crucial dans diverses applications, notamment la gestion de la chaleur, la collecte et la conversion de l'énergie, la détection, l'imagerie ou la production de nouvelles sources et de nouveaux détecteurs. Le développement de métamatériaux et de milieux complexes a permis d'obtenir des effets remarquables dans la conversion et le transfert de chaleur et de lumière, grâce à l'interaction lumière-matière à l'échelle sub-longueur d'onde.

L'école couvrira ces sujets à la fois du point de vue fondamental et du point de vue des applications.

The school is a limited number of 70 participants.

FEES INCLUDES

full board, from dinner on the day of arrival to lunch on the day of departure. You will be housed in single rooms in chalet and Extras services.
